Custom Design option advertised on site unavailable

  This page – https://store.wordpress.com/premium-upgrades/custom-design/ says that we can upgrade to a custom design for $30/year. This is not the case when clicking on the button that says “Get Custom Design” which links to https://wordpress.com/plans/82448660/ where the least expensive option is $99/year.

  Since your account was opened after Sept 1, 2014 you are subject to the Cable TV special bundle Up-sell pricing plan – you are not eligible for the $30.-/yr upgrade but need to buy the $99.-/yr bundle to “enhance” (as one of the staff said) your blogging experience by buying things you probably don’t want or need.

  The only thing you can do is if you have a friend that has an older account is to add them to your blog as an admin and have the older account buy the upgrade
