custom design upgrade to self hosted wp site

  how do i transfer custom design upgrade of a free theme, that is also available for wordpress.org from my blog to self hosted wp. Exporting xml didnt help, and it is not supposed to as far as i understand. Is there is any way to do that?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You can’t transfer the custom design upgrade and don’t need to – your .ORG install has the ability built in to modify both the PHP and CSS code of a theme. No extra charge for a .ORG install to modify anything

  No, there is no way to do that and no reason to do it. Independent WP.org sites have infinitely more options in terms of customizability than WP.com ones, and all for free. Just open up the code of your theme on the Themes page and get hacking.
