custom DNS not working
-
my email provider, bluehost.com, gave me an MX Record (MX 10 mail.gonzomedia.com) and an A record (mail 66.147.244.56), but altho the email sends, it does not receive. The smtp is the same as the outgoing. Note that network solutions previously hosted this account, but I have unassigned all emails, so it should be clear.
Yikes! Need to communicate!

I’m sorry I’m not well informed in this area. Does what’s here http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/ help you?
-
Domain Helper shows your custom domain settings as:
MX 10 mail.gonzomedia.com.
A mail 66.147.244.56Which are exact mirrors of the formatting that makes my custom email work with my old host.
All I can think of is to double check the email setting on how you communicate with your email system. Is some sort of web mail communications possible to rule in or out you settings between your PC and your email system?
I have also flagged this for the staff to see if they have any suggestions

In answer to Time Thief, already been to that support page.
Auxclass, not sure what you are asking me, I’m quite illiterate in this arena. But on webmail I know I can send. Haven’t even begun to set up the email on outlook yet since I did not want to complicate the problem.
Thanks for answering so speedily. This is a business email, but fortunately in Dallas we’re under wraps with an ice storm, so no one’s hardly communicating.
in meantime, will go back to bluehost.

When someone sends an email to the account, what type of a message do they receive?
When were the current records changed?
-
It’s just been fixed! I called BlueHost (who are so terrific, especially in comparison to my previous provider), and they noted the A Record was wrong.
So at least in webmail I can send and receive. THANK YOU ALL for your jumping on this so quickly.
Now to get the iPHone and Outlook to play nice. Whoo-hoo! -
