Custom DNS records
-
I mapped an existing domain to my wordpress.com blog and disrupted both my email and my ability to remotely log in to my server. I need both mail.startingplace.org and remote.startingplace.org to point to 173.162.92.41
Here’s how I entered this into the custom DNS editor:
A remote 173.162.92.41
MX 10 173.162.92.41.mail.startingplace.org and remote.startingplace.org are not resolving to the correct IP address. I did this earlier today. Will it just take a day or two to propogate? Or have I entered this information incorrectly? If anyone has any advice I would surely appreciate it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Not my strongest suite but based on what makes my email work you will find my best estimate to make your site work – I have also flagged this for the staff to help – also it take time for changes to reach the far corners of the internet – up to 24 to 72 hours – so once things are set correctly resist the urge to change things for a few minutes
MX 10 mail.startingplace.org.
MX 20 remote.startingplace.org.
A remote 173.162.92.41
A mail 173.162.92.41 -

just to say that it does not work does not help at all
What are you trying to do with the DNS records?
What info have you been given by whoever you need to change the records to make something work?
