Custom Domain

I have a domain called https://www.gocharting.com. Now I want to add a wordpress domain to it like https;//blog.gocharting.com using the premium plan of $4/month. How do I do that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can buy a WordPress.com Personal plan and use the Map an existing domain option available: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
You will have to enter blog.gocharting.com as your existing domain.
After that, on your domain’s DNS settings, set a CNAME record pointing blog to gocharting.wordpress.com
Feel free to get back if you questions and I will be keen on helping through it!

Hi there,
By upgrading to any of our plans you’ll be able to map a subdomain to your domain.
After upgrading to the plan, please follow this step-by-step guide to map the subdomain to your site:
If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

Thank you, much appreciate.
And what would be the process if I were to map the wordpress site to a directory within my domain like http://www.gocharting.com/blogs rather than a sub domain. I have heard a directory ranks better in SEO and hence the query

You can only map a domain or a subdomain to a WordPress.com site. Subdirectory mapping is not possible.
