Custom domain – Cannot put it primary domain

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello! I need help…
I got a premium blog and I registered a custom domain but the button to set it as primary domain (after more than a month) is still not allowing me to set it as primary domain.
I see the following message since the 23rd November 2014 and do not know how to proceed to register it as primary domain: (button not activated)

packit.es (Pending – Registration takes up to 12 hours)
    Renews on November 9, 2015

    Hi Marta,

We have been having some issues with registering .es domains, and for the time being at least, we are no longer registering .es domains:

    Domains

I have restored your domain credit and you are welcome to register whatever domain you would like that is on our list of available TLDs.

    I apologize for this inconvenience.

    Hi Amightywp!
Thanks for your help and quick answer. Unfortunately, I need the domain to be .es so I had to purchase it somewhere else.
I will be using this domain but I will keep my premium plan at wordpress. I assume there is no problem with it, right?

    Hi, again.
I see the mapping has a cost, then I understand I can use that credit for mapping the domain I had to purchase outside wordpress. Please confirm. thanks!

    Hi there,

Sorry for the delay. I was out over the weekend. Yes, the domain mapping does have a fee, however your WordPress.com premium package covers that fee automatically. You will not have to pay anything additional.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
