Custom Domain for WordAds

  In order to register for WordAds, it is mentioned that I need to have custom domain. But to get custom domain I need to pay few bucks to wordpress. So my question is, without making my blog custom domain is their any chances to register with WordAds and get the sponsors or advertisers on my blog?
