Custom Domain Mapped to Tumblr/Import Error

    I am currently trying to import all of my Tumblr posts into my WordPress, but every time I run the importer I get the following error message:

    “As one or more of your Tumblr blogs has a Custom Domain mapped to it. If you would like to import one of these sites you will need to temporarily remove the custom domain mapping and clear the account information from the importer to import.”

    I’ve disabled the custom domain on Tumblr’s end, changed the Name Servers on my domain provider’s end to point to WordPress, disconnected the importer from Tumblr and removed WordPress App access from Tumblr in an attempt to reconnect, emptied my browser cache, restarted the import, and still no luck.

    I am using the Blank Canvas theme. My WordPress can be found at adventseven.com.

    Thanks for writing to us about the problem. I’ve reset the import tool from our end. Could you please try again and let us know if the error continues.

    Hi Zinnia, thank you for your timely response. Unfortunately, the error is still happening. I have retried the importer twice and emptied my cache again, but no luck. Is there anything else we can try?

    I have also tried running the importer in both Edge and Chrome, but the same error occurs across both browsers.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for clarifying. If I can ask, how long ago did you set your Tumblr blog back to adventseven.tumblr.com. Was it pretty recent or a few days ago?

    Hi Totoro, big fan of your movie. :) It’s been at least a full week since I set my tumblr blog back to adventseven.tumblr.com, if not longer.

    Hello there,

    Many thanks – to check, what was the domain connected to Tumbr? We just want to check the DNS settings of that.

    I’ve temporarily switched the primary domain of the site to: adventseven587670150.wordpress.com

    I’ve reset the importer and cleared he WordPress.com site cache also.

    You may want to give that another attempt.

    The domain that was connected to Tumblr is adventseven.com, the same domain that I have since edited to point towards WordPress’ name servers instead.

    The importer works now! It is currently in progress and has already imported a handful of posts as I write this. Thank you so much for your help! Should I wait to reenable my custom domain until the importer has finished?
