Custom Domain & Mapping
-
We are transferring out website to WordPress from our current solution. Currently we’re set up as newcastlebaseball.wordpress.com, at this point we are ready to switch over to our “owned” domain of newcastlebaseball.com.
We are producing signage to advertise and those signs simply have “newcastlebaseball.com” for the web address. If we map our WordPress site to the new domain, will users be able to simply type in newcastlebaseball.com, or will they need to include the “www.” at the front end to make this work? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Assuming you already own the domain newcastlebaseball.com (which is already registered), you would need to purchase Domain Mapping through us, choose newcastlebaseball.com as your primary domain, and then update your name servers to point to WordPress.com. Allow up to 72 hours (though often much less) for the domain records to update across the internet (propagation) and then you should be all set.
Users who go to newcastlebaseball.com, http://www.newcastlebaseball.com or newcastlebaseball.wordpress.com will all see newcastlebaseball.com in their browser address bar.

Thank you! We do own the newcastlebaseball.com domain. We do have the Premium upgrade.
This is exactly what I was wanting to hear. -
