Custom Domain Name

  If I purchased a custom domain (jerryhilldesign.com) but then wanted to change the name, will I have to purchase another custom domain name? Or will making this the primary domain take off the .wordpress.com?

  Hi there,

  Domains can’t really be changed, they can only be cancelled and then a new one purchased in their place. They can be refunded for the first 48 hours after purchase, but after that timeframe you may as well hold on to the domain and if you are interested in a different domain buy that one as well because we wouldn’t be able to refund any of the fees which have already been paid.

  In regard to your other question, yes if you set your domain to be the primary one then it will effectively remove the .wordpress.com for anyone who visits the site. They will only see jerryhilldesign.com instead of southerpinedesign.wordpress.com.
