Custom Domain paid for, but "not available"?

I purchased a custom domain, but when I choose it as my primary address, it always sends readers to an error page. I used to have this domain name through Go Daddy, and I know it would have been in remediation for awhile, but this was 6 months ago at least. Suggestions?

Did you purchase the domain name again? If it had expired for 6 months it would need to be repurchased – what is the domain name you need help with?

It is “currently purchased” thru wordpress, I cancelled it via Go Daddy some time last year.

it looks like the registration failed
Were you charged for the domain registration? If so what were the charges? Did you choose the private registration option? What do you see when you check your upgrades?
Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades >> You should see a list of all your upgrades.
I will flag this also for staff attention as they can look at your account and charges and adjust as required

Yes, I was charged around $13. When I checked “my upgrades” it says “active”, but is also says “DNS needs to be updated. How would I do this?
I’m not sure if I chose ‘private registration’ or not. Is there a way for me to check? -
$ 13.–/year is for domain mapping – Registration is I think $ 6.00/ year – it looks like the staff need to clear something in your account to allow you to purchase the domain name here – I flagged this earlier for the staff to help you

Hi Nancy, after your domain expired with GoDaddy, you did not register is with us, you purchased a domain mapping (please see your previous support question). Because you did not own the domain and it was not registered, it was not working. I added some credits to your account — you can go ahead and register your domain via this page: https://nancytandon.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains
