Custom domain transfer

  I made a blog on blog spot to transfer on custom domain. But i found bloging difficult on blog spot as compare to wordpress. Now i am looking to make blog on wordpress to transfer it on my exicting custom domain. Kindly tell me using custom domain with wordpress is free like blog spot or not?

  Using a custom domain name is called domain mapping here and costs $ 12 / year plus any registration fees to whoever your registrar is.

  It’s still a fraction of what you would pay if you were to purchase hosting and install WordPress there.

  Blogger’s domain name mapping feature may be free, but that didn’t convince me when I had to decide between them and WordPress.com ;-)

  Can anyone give me some advice on the same topic? I own a domain for another year or so and had a wordpress blog on my friends webspace. Well I want to be back here on the webspace that wordpress provide with my WP blog.

  Any specifics on what I need to do on my providers side to direct it here?
