Custom Domain Transfer

I’m really stumped have spent over an hour plus trying to get the custom domain uploaded through my dash board. First I’m signed in but I have no grey bar at the top to get to my dashboard. Second when I go to the store at the bottom of the page it isn’t clear where Domain is to click on. Third I finally clicked on what looks like an ad and it took me to a page that say ad a custom domain. Is this the area i need to be in and then what next i have my own custom domain that have been pointed to your servers through go daddy. what next I’m stuck and frustrated?

The subscription for domain mapping an existing domain is $13.00 per year per blog. And you need to have an underlying .wordpress.com blog URL to domain map from to the domain URL.

You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog and purchase upgrades for it.

If you would like to use your domain name purchased elsewhere and map from your free hosted wordpress.com blog to it, then you will first need to set up domain mapping by following these steps. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

After you make the domain mapping purchase here > Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades and do the primary blog set up it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

Hello again. I figured out one issue I had the appetitte, com url for a prior blog set up. When a new more correctly spelled URL became available I added that to WordPress today. However since I’m using the same email address it keeps defaulting to my old url above. I cant find or sign into my my new blog appetite.mobi. Any suggestions?

I currently don’t see a domain attached to your account yet, is that correct?

To map a domain, go to Store > Domains on your blog’s dashboard and follow the steps there.

Please take a look at the following guide before going through the process.
