Custom .edu domain

  I’m creating a new blog for my university office. I’d like to have a custom .edu domain for my WordPress.com blog. Is this possible? What do I need to do before purchasing the upgrade?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  HI Andria, since .edu domains are limited to accredited colleges and universities, the registration of .edu domains is handled exclusively by EDUCAUSE.

  So, the first step would be to register the domain name with them. You can learn more about that process at http://www.educause.edu/edudomain

  The second step would be to map the domain to your WordPress.com site, and we’ve got some instructions for that at http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain
