Custom email addresses
-
Here’s my situation:
– when I started my blog I purchased a custom domain and added email from Google Apps.
– after my domain expired, I purchased a new custom domain through a 3rd party and have mapped my wordpress blog to the new domain name.
– I would like the email address of my blog to reflect my new domain name. So my question is: do I need to create another email on Google Apps and go through the process of adding an email to my blog again? Or is there a way to just change the current email address?I hope I have explained this clearly. Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Hi Linh,
This is really a question for the Google Apps folks more than us, but I went ahead and did some research for you. It looks like you will probably need to create a whole new account for your email. There is a help article from Google right here:
https://support.google.com/a/answer/54819?hl=en
That says that while you can add an additional domain to your current account, you cannot switch primary domain names on your account. It may be that the account will continue functioning without an active domain as a primary domain (so it may by that you can add your new domain to your account even though your original domain has expired and everything will work OK), but I don’t know enough about how Google’s systems work to be able to give you advice on that. You would need to reach out to them directly to get confirmation.
I hope this helps!
