  Where are they? I don’t see them at the bottom of the Edit Post page or the Add New Post page or in fact anywhere!

  Custom fields are only applicable to self-hosted blogs using the WordPress.org software; please see http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ for the differences.
