custom fonts reverting

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve selected header (Open Sans extra bold -1) and body (FF Dagny) fonts and they’re working fine on my blog. But whenever I return to the customization panel to adjust something, the fonts automatically revert to fonts I tried a few days ago and rejected. (Facit Web and Arvo) I’ve cleared my cache and tried to eliminate the rejected fonts, but nothing is working. And when you click on my http://theme.wordpress.com/credits/canadianartjunkie.com/ it also shows Facit and Arvo, although the correct fonts are showing on the pages of my blog. Any thoughts? Thanks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, are you still having this issue? I cleared my browser caches and visited your site and see your custom fonts on Safari, Firefox and Chrome just fine. I see Open Sans as the site title and dagny web pro for the body font.

Thanks, but I guess I didn’t explain very well. Yes, the fonts are OK on the site. My problem is: Every time I go to the customize bar to fix something like the color or the header, the fonts revert to Facit Web and Arvo – even though I haven’t changed them to Facit Web and Arvo. This means I have to re-select Open Sans and Dagny every time I use customize, and re-save the fonts over and over because they change automatically to fonts I haven’t picked. Also, when you click on my http://theme.wordpress.com/credits/canadianartjunkie.com/ it still says Facit and Arvo, although those fonts are not in use on my web. It’s puzzling and irritating to have to re-select and re-save the fonts every time I go to customize something else.

Sorry, that’s my bad, not yours. I did a search of our bug tracking system and didn’t find a ticket on this, but I think there was one. I’ll touch base with the team in the morning and post back here with what I find out. As I remember this was sort of a random thing that only affected a small number of sites and haven’t seen it reported in the forums in quite a while.

    Hang in there.

Thank you, really appreciate it (BTW, I’m still experimenting with my body font, but none of the body fonts I’m selecting are Arvo)

Thank you for reporting this! The developers have made an update this morning and the problem should be fixed.

Could you try going to Appearance > Customize > Fonts and let me know if everything is working as it should now?

Miracle!! Thanks so much to the developers. It’s absolutely fine now, and a big relief.

@michele0520, I see LTC Bondini 175 assigned to headings, and Abril Text assigned to body text on your site at Appearance > Customize > Fonts. When I look at the source code and CSS for your site, I see those same fonts assigned to Headings and body text.

Is this working for you now?

there was a glitch in my computer. got it fixed. thank you for the quick reply.

one more question. i live in seoul, korea. is it possible to connect a korean search engine (“naver”) to my wordpress blog?

is it possible to connect a korean search engine (“naver”) to my wordpress blog?

Do you mean you’re trying to get your site to show up in the naver site? If so, you will want to check with naver to see if they have an option for that as a first step. There is not a way to add custom meta tags to WordPress.com sites, so if that’s one of their requirements, then you wouldn’t be able to connect it.
