Custom Header above image in Twenty Eleven

    Hi,

I’d like to spruce up my Farmers Market website, and I want to move social buttons and the search bar above the header image, similar to what has been done on this website: http://coppellfarmersmarket.org

I’ve installed a plugin called Easy Social Icon and tried to edit the header.php file, but I’ve encountered several problems so far:

    1. When I insert the Social plugin and search bar above the header image, it inserts them one on top of the other on the left side of the page. How can I place them on one line with the search bar on the right?

    2. The background for the new header area it creates for these plugins is white. What do I need to do to make it match the green color serving as the background on the rest of the site?

    3. I’ve seen code to hide the search bar from the Nav Menu using custom CSS, but is there any way to make the menu bar full width after the search widget is removed? Currently, when an item is selected (and made bold), it’s pushing Friends of SMFM, the last nav item, to a second row even though there’s extra space on the first line (with the search bar removed).

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Ross

    Hi there,
This is the WordPress.COM support forum. You need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM.

WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features and run different versions of some themes with the same names http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
