Custom Header Image Crop Malfunction
-
Hi,
It’s been a while since I had a blog, and I’m having trouble cropping a custom header image. I’m using the Verdant theme, on a Windows 10 computer, in a chrome browser.
The process is straightforward. I can upload the image, crop it, and the crop appears to work fine. The image is cropped appropriately in the ‘previously uploaded’ Header Media list in my ‘Customizing – Site Identity’ menu.
However, when I choose the cropped image to use as the current header, it does not display the cropped version, but rather a hazy zoomed in version of the image. It does the same thing with the canned images that are selectable.
I must be missing something obvious?
For reference, this is the image that is currently my header. It is uncropped. Compare to what you see when you visit my blog landing page.

Hi there,
I checked your site and it appears you’re in the wrong forum. Although your site is connected to WordPress.com via Jetpack, it is using the open-source WordPress.org software and you need to seek help at these forums:

These forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only. Since we do not have access to self-hosted WordPress.org sites, we are unable to provide any direct assistance to your issue. I would also reach out to your site host for help.
If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org you can read this document:
Thanks!

Thanks Darnell! That does ring a bell now that you point it out. I had a blog many many years ago and I am just now getting back into it. Cheers
