Custom Header – Image Issues
-
I blog here: awesomeave.wordpress.com
I have the Benevolence theme and for quite a while have just been using my own photos as the banner. I decided to create a header in Adobe Elements, taking a base photo and copying 3 photos on top of that and resizing, then adding text. I saved as JPEG. You can see this header in a post in my blog.
When I went to upload all was well – then I got to “crop image” (my file was 700×239 pixels, best I could do) and my image didn’t show! I thought this would be OK – hit crop to go ahead and the header went black – no image.
I’ve replaced with another photograph for now but can anyone help me?

In Elements, if you un-check Constrain Proportions in the image resizing box, you can make it precisely the size you need.
When you save, if you’re not already using the Save for Web option, give it a try sometime. It really compresses the file without any obvious loss of quality when viewed on a monitor.
