custom header image not saving AND problems deleting images from media library

  Hello Everyone,
  Adding to what seems to be a larger issue on WordPress today: Out of nowhere today, my custom header image disappeared off my site (it had previously been there for months with no problem). So I went into the ‘Customize’ page and into ‘Header’ where I put my previously uploaded custom header image BACK into the system, and hit ‘Save and Publish’ – but it is not saving and keeps defaulting to a preset WordPress header image. Why is this? I don’t know why this is happening in the first place – I hadn’t made any changes to the custom header at all – it just went away for no reason on its own!

  Also – for the past several days, I’ve tried using the ‘delete permanently’ function in my media library to discard images that I’ve uploaded in the past but actually don’t need for my blog. The images I am trying to delete will appear deleted at first, but the next time I sign back into my account and reload the media library, they will be back, no longer ‘deleted.’ (Note: the images I am deleting are NOT in use on any of my posts).

  I have the EXACT same problem on this very same day. What is going on WP? I do not know how to code. So, I need very clear instructions on how to fix this problem/ Thank you.

  this is day 2 and I cannot access my media library.
