custom header image resizing
-
Hi. I’m trying to upload an image into my custom header. The requested dimensions are 480×250. But my image doesn’t want to be 480×250. The best I can seem to do is 313×250. My question is, if I’ve resized my pic to the exact height requirement and the width is actually SMALLER than the requirement, why am I still being asked to crop the image once it’s uploaded? This doesn’t seem right.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Same problem here. No matter what size I make the header image, WordPress still asks me to crop it (again). Is there a way around it?

The header image message is: “Images of exactly 740 x 180 pixels will be used as-is.” So I crop to 740×180, upload the image, but WordPress asks me to re-crop it to some unspecified narrower size. What gives?

is it a box you can move around? if so, just try to expand it (click on corner and drag).

The crop box for custom header images cannot be resized, it can just be moved around (although some browsers even have issues moving it around).
