Custom header not uploading

  Recently I created a child theme for my website so I could edit it etc. I’m sure I did this properly because I created it based off of the Graphene theme website and I am using the Graphene theme. Everything is working well with this other than my header. I am aware that when you create a new child theme you need to reupload your custom header to the website.

  But when i go to header–>upload
  It then takes me to the crop and save screen. But the image doesnt appear and there is just a small broken image icon in the left corner and the crop and save button. If I continue and click crop and save no image appears and there is no header image at all left on my website.

  I know it isnt an issue with the image because it is a valid file type and is the size that I want and used prior. So that isn’t the issue. The issue is with the uploader not actually putting it up.

  When I go into my media files after uploading it many times each time it says, “Image data does not exist. Please re-upload the image.”

  I read through the past forum questions and it appears that some people have had the same issues as me.

  They suggested also disabling all of the plugins you are running and trying to see if that works but that too didnt work.

  I tried to manually place the header in by uploading it to a different directory then putting the url in but that too was unsuccessful.

  Im thinking its an issue with the actual wordpress uploader.

  I’ve really been trying to dissect this issue but im struggling!
