custom header problem

  I have seen this question asked before, but have never seen an answer that addresses the problem. Question: I am told I can replace the theme header with my own header image, it can be a maximum of 740×192 pixels otherwise it will be cropped. Regardless of the image size I upload the crop area is smaller than my image. I have tried my image as small as 300 pixels wide and still the crop area is smaller than my image. What is the problem?

  It is best to create a header with the maximum dimensions. So in this case, your header must be: 740×192.

  Thank you for you reply. I did create a header with the maximum dimensions but it wants to crop it and no matter how small I make my header it still wants to crop it. Many people are having this problem, but I have not come across a solution as of yet.
