Custom header themes
-
Hi – I’m not currently using a custom header theme, but am considering switching.
I ntoiced when playing around with it that whatever I use would have to fit a certain pixel size. Is there a way to tell how many inches that would correspond to?
I’d like to play around and build my own document that has some pictures, text and then use it for my custom header. So I need to know the sizing.
Thanks!

I don’t know if it’s 100% accurate but this website converts pixels to inches. It should give you an idea of the size. A program like http://www.irfanview.com/ might help as well.
http://auctionrepair.com/pixels.htmlAnd this FAQ lists the different header sizes. Hope that helps. :)

What happens when you submit a photo for use as a custom header is that the system will give you a frame within which you will have to crop your photo.
If you have a “wide-screen” image for your header, you can guage the width, etc by using a free photo software called IrfanView>/a>.
IrfanView is really easy. Crop to the size you want, then go to resize photo and it will give you the width in either pixels, centimetres or inches. Just put in the width you want and it will calculate the height. Save the resized photo, then upload it to your blog’s custom header via the dashboard. Worked for me pretty well that way.
