Custom header with Mystique theme

I’m trying to upload a custom header to my blog, which uses the “Mystique” theme. The images I’m uploading are the exact size required, 940 x 200 pixels. I’ve tried uploaded both .png and .gif files, but they’re not coming up as transparent. Instead, it changes the background of the entire blog to black. I really like the stock background that comes with the theme, and I was hoping I could use a custom header that has some transparency. Please advise.

If you use a .gif image of exactly the correct dimensions this ought to work. The blackness normally happens only if we don’t have the exact images size and you are citing the correct custom header size for Mystique. I’m sorry but it seems you will have to contact Staff and report this to them.

Transparent PNGs work. Link to the blog in question please: the one linked to your username isn’t using Mystique.

The image you have uploaded is transparent alright (but a png instead of a gif would give you better quality). I checked things in my tests blog, and the issue has nothing to do with the transparency: when you add a header image –any image– you lose this one:

So I think I figured out a quick fix for now. After adding the custom header, I have to re-add the theme background (ie, the jpeg link you posted) as a “custom background.” It’s a roundabout way of doing things, but this works for now.
