Custom Headers – Pictorico Theme
-
Is it possible to create custom headers which are unique to single posts? Basically I want to be able to edit a featured image which looks great in the blog index view but not so much as the header in the single page view. I know how to create a custom header, but I don’t want it on every page of my blog. Any help is much appreciated!

This depends on whether or not that is a feature that is built into the theme directly. In this case, for the Pictorico theme, adding a unique header image per post is not something the theme was designed to do.
One possible workaround would be to use Custom CSS to modify groups of pages (or even single posts), but it’s not a good solution if you want to have a unique header image for every single post. It’s also possible to hide the header image using CSS on single posts only.
You would need to purchase the Custom Design upgrade in order to make CSS modifications to a theme. See this page for details:

Is there anyway to have pictorico NOT to display my post featured image as a header on the post page, and display the featured image as a regular post image?
The mosaic on the Home page looks great, but the post page looks awful.

I’m sorry but there isn’t a way built in to the theme to move the featured image to be a regular post. However, if you purchased the Custom Design upgrade, then you could hide the featured image from view—if that sounds like something you’d like to try out, please start a new thread and provide a link to one of your posts that has a featured image set at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization/#postform
I looked at an example post with a featured image from the Pictorico demo site, and I think it looks good there:
http://pictoricodemo.wordpress.com/2011/07/07/amber-waves/Maybe you aren’t uploading large enough images? Or maybe if you uploaded images that are cropped a bit differently for the featured image, then it would turn out looking better for future posts you create. If not, maybe experimenting with some possible CSS solutions is something you’d want to try out. If so, please start a new thread and we can look at it in more detail together.
