Custom image for a header, comes up so large you can't see blog name on a PC
-
I have chosen a custom image for a header on all my pages, but WordPress displays it so large that when you view it on a PC, particularly if you have menu bars on your browser, you can’t see any writing at all, not even the blog name. How can I change this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
It looks like your header is just shaped a bit off for the space if needs to be in. If you go to the Twenty-Fourteen info page: https://wordpress.com/themes/twentyfourteen/ then you’ll see that the dimensions for the header are:
1260 wide and 240 high
So if you upload an image which is the correct size it should look much better!

Thank you for your help. The original image that I want to use (to fit our branding) is 613 by 613 pixels. How could I make that image become 1260 by 240? I’m happy to crop, but I also need to increase the pixels in one direction! I have Microsoft Office Picture Manager, would that enable me to edit my image to the correct number of pixels?

I managed to do it. The header image looks a bit worse for being increased in size in one direction but much reduced in the other direction, but the website looks very much better for having a correct picture. Thank you very much for your help.
