Custom Image Header
-
I am having problems uploading an image to my header. The pixels that my image is in is smaller than what is requested. But it will only allow me crop a certain section and not the whole photo. What should I do?

Thanks (but take out the www – that’s not a part of your url)
The very best thing to do when making your header image is to make it the exact size (see http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/07/08/which-themes-can-i-add-a-header-image-to/ for image sizes) to avoid the cropping.
If you are still having trouble, usually it is a browser issue. What browser are you using?

Using an image smaller than the required one is not generally successful in my experience. Can you open it in a graphics program and resize it, or add a border to it? Or even tile, depending on the design?

I tried that and that did not work. I am trying to apply a picture to only a certain part of the header not the whole header. What else can I possibly do?

You will need to use a photo editor like gimp, or photoshop,
and make a layout that is the height & width of the header
space on your theme. Then insert the image into the editor
& position the photo on the layout & save it.Then when you upload it to your blog you won’t need to crop
it & the photo will be positioned were you want it.I forgot to mention Gimp is free
GIMP 2.6 -
