Custom Image Header Keeps Disappearing

When you leave a link to your blog, please preface it with http:// otherwise it’s a dead link, not a live, clickable one.
And please tell us what kind of custom header image you uploaded. Sometimes we can see it but you can’t.

Why could I see the image for the last 2 weeks and not now? It is a jpg file of a glass and pearl bracelet.

I see it as well with the same browser on Windows 98. It is the last thing on the page to load, though.

Hiya. I won’t say my custom header image disappeared, because it never appeared in the first place even though I uploaded it. I use Firefox 2.0 and the Fjords04 theme. When I use Customize Image Header, the system claims to have successfully uploaded the image (which is a regular .jpg, 351KB) but the space is blank, and when I view my blog ( http://engagemn.wordpress.org ) the header is blank (I have refreshed and re-uploaded many times). It’s the right dimensions, 900 x 200 pixels. Any idea what’s going wrong?

I think the blog URL you gave us is incorrect. Is it supposed to be .com instead of .org? Are you hosted here at wordpress.com? the link (if I put in .com) leads to http://engagemn.com and it looks like you may have customized the CSS. Have you?

i think that’s what most people are having this problem like me…but still i want to find a solution. if there are any! i tried uploading my header again and nothing comes out! i love my blog and thought wordpress might be more stable…so started using it couple months ago. please…someone…say something…if the server is down in some areas, come on out and verify what the problem is. thanks!

Your header loads okay for me, but it’s a darn big file, and for people with slower connections it might not load at all. It would load better if you optimized it for the web by reducing the file size.

You’re welcome. Yes, it’s slow loading even on my cable, so people with dialup may never get to see it. Sizing it down will solve that problem. I have a blog that does that, and I should really fix it myself. Thanks for reminding me!

I just uploaded an image for the Custom Image Header using Chaotic Soul at http://eidelmanphoto.wordpress.com and it disappeared, although the message tells me I should expect to see it on the site.

i’d help you check the blog out from my browser but i think you set it to private. you can check if the header is uploaded by going to dashboard -> manage -> uploads.
if it’s still not on your blog, try deleting the uploaded header and upload it again.

I’m using a frirefox 2.0.0.9 browser. I see a header (white duck on water) so I assume this has been resolved now.
