Custom input field on payment checkout
-
I am planning on selling custom indicators for a thrd-party website. In order to give access to those indicators for folks who purchase them, I need to get their username on the third-party site so I can look them up and grant access. Is there a way to achieve this during the checkout process using the out-of-the-box payment system here on wordpress.com?
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The AI bot suggested that it was possible while editing a payment plan, but I don’t see that option when I edit it…

Hi @jmosul, thanks for your patience! Sometimes if you reply to yourself we won’t notice the thread right away.

What is the site you’re checking against? Out of the box, I can’t think of any other sites that WordPress would know how to check, but maybe there’s a plugin that does that for you.
Otherwise, does this other site have an API you can access? If so, you can likely get a developer to write a custom plugin for you. We currently recommend Codable for that kind of work.
And just note your hosting configuration would need to support plugins. You could host here on Business, or if you can manage the maintenance and security and what not, you can self-host. We have more details here.
Hoping this helps!
