Custom links won’t open in Safari
-
I have been having an issue lately where my custom links by default attempts to open in Saari but is unsuccessful. The page doesn’t load. I’ve been blogging for over a month now and this is the first time I’ve seen this happen. I am clueless as to how to address this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I had a quick look at your site but wasn’t sure what you refer to as a custom link.
Can you please elaborate and maybe give me an example so I may help you. -
Hi there,
I’m also not clear what you mean. Please provide a direct link to the page on your site where you have these links added, and also tell us exactly which links you’re clicking that aren’t opening correctly.

The issue I’m having is that when I send a custom link to a specific post, it’s not opening properly. I think this is more so for iPhone users. When the link is clicked, it attempts to open in Safari, but it never actually loads.
Here’s one of my links https://merchantwritesagain.wordpress.com/2018/03/31/love-blows/
Once a user clicks it on their iPhone, it takes then to the Safari browser but the post never actually loads. I don’t know if I made it any clearer.

It’s almost as though the post link is incompatible with Safari, because it works well on any other browser. The issue persist even when you copy the link I supplied and paste it in the Safari search bar — it doesn’t load the post.

The problem is not with Safari – that link won’t work for me in Firefox either. Rather, it’s a problem with the ads being shown on your site – we’ve had a few reports of ads causing loading issues on sites using certain themes, and your Textbook theme is one of the affected ones.
We’re working on a fix for this issue, but meanwhile I’ve made an adjustment on our end so your site should work again.

The issue that was causing this has been fixed, so everything on your site should now be loading normally again.
