  Yes, I know this is a generic question, but all the topics I found via search were locked.

  I’ve decided to have a blog. I want to make it simple and easy, so I don’t want to bother downloading wordpress and installing to to another server. I am content with my .wordpress domain, for now, too. Anyway, I was trying to change the header at the top of my blog (swapping it for an image, hopefully), but I couldn’t seem to find a way, without having to install the full wordpress package on another server… is there a solution right in front of my eyes?

  I have had a blog in the past, and I don’t remember it being difficult…

  Whether you can install a custom header or not is entirely dependent on the theme. Some support it and some do not. Without a link to the blog that you are talking about, I can’t go much further.

  Is this the blog you are talking about, http://worthyplug.wordpress.com/ ?

  The issue with that theme is it doesn’t actually support a custom header and although there is a trick that can be used to place one to the right side of the header area, with the log blog title you have, it severely limits the size of the “logo” that you could use. See the following blog post by Panos for how to add one, but depending on the size of your logo, you might have to shorten your blog title.

  Thanks for you help anyway…

  I’m struggling to find a theme that’ll let me have a big enough header… Do you know of any themes that let you have a header around 270pixels high? Or is there a way to “break the rules” to get around it?

  This post by Panos lists the header image sizes for all the different themes.

  Header images

  The only way to get around that is if you buy the CSS editing upgrade and have CSS editing experience.
