Custom Menu
-
Hello, I’m new. I have chosen Andrea for my theme. I could change my background and Header Image. This theme has also a blue bar (beneath my header image) in which already appears my Guestbook. I do not know how to put in other links like “Home” and some other websites .
The link to my Guestbook is the primary navigation but it seems to be the only one I can put there.
Who can help me with this ?
Thank you.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi. These documents might help you create a custom menu that fits your needs:

I guess I’m stupid. I don’t get it.
There is Top Navigation possible in the theme Andrea (I see it on an other website with the same theme and which has several links in the Top Navigation menu.
The explanation of this person (in Dutch, which is also my language) is different from the one you refer me to above. On the site “onecoolsitebloggingtips.com” they mention that I have to make a static page called Categories and that I have to create categories and add them to this static page as children.
This is Chinese to me. What do they mean with “a static page” and how do I add children to this page ?
Thanks for the help.

The article in onecoolsitebloggingtips covers various possibilities; the “Chinese” aren’t related to what you’re interested in.
The standard top nav menu in Andrea displays links to the pages you can create under Pages > Add New. “Guestbook” isn’t a page of yours, it’s a link to an external webpage, so you’re already using a custom top nav menu. (Did someone else set the blog up for you?)
So, without much Chinese:
• Copy the addresses of the websites you want to link to.
• Go to Appearance > Menus; paste each address in the URL field of the “Custom Links” box, type the title you want in the Label field, click Add to Menu; repeat for the rest of the links you want to create.
• When you’re done with all the links, click Save Menu. -
Well, nobody set up the blog for me. I made some custom menus and I could choose which one I wanted as my primary navigation. Doing so this link “Guestbook” is shown in the Top Navigation menu.
So I thought that I could put other external links in there too.
I’m going to check out this other website again to see if the Top Navigation menu mentions only pages of this person.
Thanks for the information. -
OK I checked it out again.
I created a new custom menu that I called Top Navigation menu. I put in all the url’s of the sites I want in my Top Nav Menu (also external sites !) and it works indeed.
The only thing that I dislike is the fact that Windows Live Skydrive will also dissappear next year and I can no longer link to my photo-album.
From then on I will have to use another way. -
Is is possible to export the images out of Windows Live Skydrive and then import that file into another image hosting service?
-
Unless MS has changed their mind just recently, my understanding is that the MS live photo album stuff is NOT going away, it will remain just as it is. Look in the “Frequently asked questions in this link.

Where did my photo albums go?
If you didn’t use the images in blog posts, they won’t be moved to WordPress.com. However, you will still be able to find them by going to http://photos.live.com/ , where you’ll see all of your albums. -
Well, OK that’s good news.
I hope they won’t change their mind about this then.
Bye bye !
