  I would like to suggest the addition of a URL space within each menu item of a custom menu. Currently, if a category is set as a menu item, to replace it with a page later, the category menu item must be deleted and the page added.

  Simple enough, but the problem arises when CSS has been applied to the menu item. You then have to go back and change the code as well, since it’s a new menu item.

  It would be great if you could just change the URL directly within the menu item (while editing a custom menu). It would be a lot less hassle than deleting and re-adding a menu item, then re-editing code.

  It would be nice if this option still worked as a dynamic menu item, too. That is, if the system automatically recognises that a page has replaced a category, for example (so that menu highlighting would continue to function correctly).
