Custom menu problem (Customized Origin)
-
I’ve created a custom menu on my (extremely new) blog, but am having problems with cursor navigation.
I have three top level columns (‘Productions’, ‘Blog’, and ‘Contact’), which reveal sub-menus. To take just one as an example:
‘Productions’, a custom link (i.e. nothing but a menu header)
–> ‘Another Country (Spring 2013)’ (another custom link)
–> reveals 11 sub-menu topics leading to pages (‘The Show’, ‘Tickets’, ‘News’, etc.).The problem: it is very difficult to move the pointer from ‘Another Country’ to any of the sub-menu topics. Usually, the menu just minimizes. Only about 1 in every 15 or so times do I actually succeed in clicking on the sub-menu. Have I done something very foolish in the construction of the menu, or is this a theme glitch?
Any help and advice very much appreciated!

There is no theme glitch. The theme is performing the way it is designed to perform.

No, it’s not performing the way it should: when you hover over Productions then Another Country, there should be no space between that tab and the flyout next to it.

Hi again,
This thread has been flagged for Themes Staff attention as we Volunteers can’t deal with this and only they can. Please be patient while waiting. -

Note that it’s the weekend and a brilliant outcome may not take place until Themes Staff actually click into this thread and become aware of the issue.

I’m having a similar problem on the SUNDANCE theme…. mouse on top-level item displays sub-menu, and the moment I attempt to mouse onto the sub-menu items they disappear (you called it “minimized”). I have only been able to get the sub-menu to STAY onscreen if it “drag” the top-level item downward onto the sub-menu… then they stay put and I can click on them. I sure wouldn’t want my blogsite visitors to have to do THAT!

Hi there Themes Staff –
Just wondering if there’s any news on this problem?
I need to start sending my website out to companies and sponsors very soon, so I just thought I’d check. If it seems like this issue is going to take a long time to fix, I could of course change my theme – but I want to make sure that this is the only option first.
I completely understand that you are very, very busy – and many thanks! Jessica x

Hi Jessica,
I’m sorry that it took us so long to respond to your question.
Looking at your site I could not recreate the issues you mentioned above. Do the errors still occur for you?@paxetbonumcomm: Thank you for bringing it to our attention! The issue has been corrected and should no longer be a problem.

THANK-YOU for pursuing and resolving this issue! I appreciate the time and effort you spent on it!

Hi kobenland,
That’s because I’d temporarily altered the menu structure so that the glitch wasn’t such a big problem! I’ve now returned it to how it was before (I.e., Productions/Another Country/etc), so now you should see the problem has returned!
Thank you for your attention and time, by the way.
