Custom Menu vs. Tom Menu

  I have created a custom menu with a widget, but I cannot eliminate the top (horizontal) menu. I did it once, added a menu item, and then it reverted back to two menus. I need to get rid of the horizon (top, or ribbon) menu. Thank you for your help.

  To get rid of the top menu you need to create a new custom menu in Appearance > Menus, add nothing to it, save it, select that menu from the Theme Locations pulldown, save.
