custom page template not getting picked up

  Is there any reason this page template works:

  /**
   * The template for displaying all pages
   *
   * This is the template that displays all pages by default.
   * Please note that this is the WordPress construct of pages
   * and that other 'pages' on your WordPress site may use a
   * different template.

   * @link https://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Hierarchy
   *

   */
  
  get_header(); ?>

  But this one does not?

  <?php /* Template Name: CustomPageT1 */  
  get_header('blog'); ?>

  Everything after is pretty much identical. There are no errors it just doesn’t pick up the different page.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  i don’t need help with the http://www.michiganplasterng.com site, I’m not sure how that got into the bottom of my post..
