Custom Permalink Structure Not Working

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m having an issue with using a custom permalink structure on a WordPress website. I’m attempting to use the following as my custom structure:
    /?page=%postname%
However, WordPress interprets that as EXACTLY the same things as
    /%postname%/
I figured this should work fine, as I followed exactly the same format as the plain setting (I have also tried /?p=%postname%), but WordPress just isn’t parsing the custom structure correctly. Is this type of structure even possible to do?

    Hi there,

There are two different versions of WordPress. These forums only provide support for the WordPress.com version.

If you have the ability to customize permalinks, it means you’re using the self-hosted version from WordPress.org.

If you need support for a self-hosted site, please try posting your question in the WordPress.org support forums.

To learn about the differences between the two versions of WordPress (.com vs.org), please see this guide.

    Good luck!
