Custom plugins

I want to be able to post onto a diaspora pod, but cannot, presumably because the code isn’t mature. Is it possible to self-install plugins on my blog hosted by WP.com, or do I have to create my own local installation and install it there?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

At WordPress.com, we do not support third-party plugins or themes to be uploaded. However, we do have some built-in features that may replace the need for most third-party plugins. You can check out a list of options we have on WordPress.com without a plugin here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/

If you need to install a plugin, you’ll need to use a self-hosted WordPress.org site. There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If you aren’t sure about the differences, please check the following article that details the differences: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org

Hope that helps. Feel free to let me know if there’s anything else you need and I’ll be happy to help.
