Custom Posts Page Color
-
Hey, I’m looking to create a semi custom posts page for my blog, I want something other than blog posts against a white background, would love a different color, is that possible?
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: Yes -
Hi there,
I’m not sure I understand, can you clarify? You wish to have all blog posts use a different background, but only blog posts? i.e. pages would have the default background color?
Also do you intend for all blog posts to have the same background color? Or do you mean you wish to have different background colors (from post to post) that will change all the time?
Thanks for the additional info!

If I were to switch my blogs to just a static page instead of the kind I have right now, would I be able to choose a color other than white to be in the background?
Right now, the only way I really want to do my blog posts pages is static pages because any other way i try them, my images posted into my blog entries don;t show up until someone clicks into the blog, I want them shown at all times, and so far, the only convenient way to do that for me is with a static page, because I don;t used featured images because it creates two images within the post, which is just inconvenient for me.

Hi again,
If I were to switch my blogs to just a static page instead of the kind I have right now, would I be able to choose a color other than white to be in the background?
No in this case that would not help. Typically for a site to have a different background color for specific posts and/or pages requires a fair amount of customization. That is why I asked earlier, which of these do you want?
- all blog posts to have the same background color (a color different from your homepage)
- All posts to have a different background colors so no two posts have the same color, but each post has it’s own custom background color set depending on the subject/topic of the post?
How we would suggest you proceed depends on which of those options you are interested in, thanks!

Just one color, I just want the background to be something other than white, like black, or grey

Great! That should make things somewhat easier. :D
What you’ll want to do is to go to the Customizer and choose “Colors and Backgrounds”. On the next page, click the circle as noted in this screenshot to select the background color.
If you have a specific color or want to create a color that isn’t in the color options, click the “pick your own color” link to bring up the color picker. Once you save your changes, that will change the background color across your entire site.
That should take care of it! Let us know if you have any questions.
