Custom short URLs

  Is it possible to have a custom shortlink rather than the default wp.me? I am using my own service through bit.ly at the moment and when I share my article through twitter etc. I would like to use that rather than wp.me.

  HI Parrus,

  Customizing the shortlink wouldn’t be possible on WordPress.com. You can continue to you Bit.ly if that works for you.

  Can I use bit.ly (automatically) as my shortlink in wordpress.com instead of wp.me?

  If so, how would I go about setting this up?

  You can go to: https://bitly.com/ and enter the link that you want to shorten. It will create a shortlink for you.

  Thanks. I am already aware of how to do that… I wondered whether there is a way of replacing the wp.me link that appears when I click ‘get shortlink’ from my post with a bit.ly link automatically (rather than me manually pasting it over the wp.me link)
