Custom URL for image responds as gallery image

I setup a bunch of images with custom URL to move to their respective product pages on click, but when I click on each of them, it responds as if it were a gallery image by trying to load the image, then displays an error message, ‘The image could not be loaded.’ The images are located as tab content, but it should not behave any differently than if they were placed in the product description section. Is anyone else experiencing this issue and have a possible solution to this?
