Custom User Avatar?

  Hi, I would like to upload an image for my WordPress profile. I only want to use it for WordPress, however. I do NOT want it showing up on other random sites around the internet. Every time I try uploading a profile image I get redirected to Gravatar, which promises that the image I upload will not only appear on WordPress, but will also show up any time I use my e-mail address anywhere! How can I create a custom profile image for WordPress without having it show up in other locations without my consent???
