    how can i create a customary 404 page for my website?

    there is no editor option for me

    Hi there,

    It is not possible to edit templates on Classic Themes, such as the one you are using currently. Because these themes are not created using blocks, it is not possible to edit the templates directly. It is possible to make some customizations by upgrading to our Premium Plan, which includes the option to access custom design tools and add your own CSS code for targeted changes.

    If I can ask, how are you trying to customize your 404 page? Can you tell us more about what you are trying to set up?

    Also, you can consider switching to one of our newer block themes, all of which have a Site Editor option, and access to customize all page templates including the 404 template: https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/full-site-editing
