custome image header

I am trying to upload a custom image header(from a MAC) and the choose file button is not active. Can someone help?

Perhaps it’s a browser issue and perhaps not but you could try clearing your browser, if you think it’s worth trying than: Cmd-Shift-R in FF is how it’s done on a Mac.

What version OSX are you using?
Are there issues on the Apple Forums (http://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa) with the OS version you have?

Might pay to make a visit to this or your browsers’ homesite/forum to see if others have/are experiencing the same problem.

I use Firefox, and have it set to clear the cache etc on exit. Makes for a less problematic experience in the long run!

Try timethief’s resolution first, then if that doesn’t work, you’ll have to do some footwork on the other forums I’m afraid!

    Good luck!

    hi there.
i’m not very good with computers, but I was having the exact same problem at the exact same time. I tried with a different browser (Opera) and it worked perfectly. I don’t know why Safari didn’t, or why Opera did, but there’s one solution for you, even if it doesn’t address the underlying problem.
    Good luck.

To be clear I do not know if this is a browser issue or not. What I do know is that wordpress displays well in Firefox 2, Opera 9 and IE 7. And Mark has advised if you are not running the above, please do. This is because old browsers and new code tend not to mix so well – and wordpress does not support every browser in every version. I also know that many bloggers who have posted to the forum have discovered that Safari has issues and have switched to using other browsers.

What you need to do is size and crop your image to the exact size needed before you upload it. When wordpress does it, it does not resample the image, it just resizes it as necessary and presents you with the crop option.

This has the header sizes for all themes that can have custom headers: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/07/08/which-themes-can-i-add-a-header-image-to/
