customer management in ecom website

I’m looking to host my website with you but I was wondering what the customer management will look like. I.e. will customers be able to view their account and the order history? How does it work? Is this customisable?

Hey there,
Many thanks for reaching out and happy to help you with this.
customer management will look like. I.e. will customers be able to view their account and the order history?
So for ecommerce solutions, we recommend using WooCommerce which has customer account functionality built in.
Your customers would be able to login to the site, view their account details (edit these if need be), past orders, payment methods and other details.
This guide here: https://woocommerce.com/document/the-my-account-page/ explains what this looks like, right out of the box from WooCommerce.
Additionally, this guide here has some good steps on how to get started with an WooCommerce store: https://en.support.wordpress.com/ecommerce/
Is this customisable?
This can be customised yes, and this can be done either via a plugin, or via some custom development.
What are you looking to build and customise out of curiosity? I can perhaps provide some guidance on how best to achieve that.
To note, in order to run WooCommerce on WordPress.com, the site would need to be on the business plan, at a minimum, the full features of which can be seen below:

If you have a site already built, it’s possible to use this plugin here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpcom-migration/ to migrate the site over to WordPress.com.
If you’re building a new site, we do offer a Built By WordPress – https://wordpress.com/built-by-wordpress-com/ whereby we can put together a website for you, saving you some time. This is becoming quite a popular option for those who are just getting started.
I hope this helps and I look forward to hearing more.
