My domain name had expired and I just renewed it but it’s not letting me transfer to wordpress
Hi, My domain name (www.tamararasamny.com ) had expired, and I just renewed it but it won’t let me transfer the domain name to my account (even though I had initially registered it through wordpress). And now when I type the website address in http://www.tamararasamny.com , it says ‘bad gateway’ and the site doesn’t open. Any advice on what the issue is? Thank you.

Hi there,
I’ve looked into your domain situation, and here’s what I found. Your domain tamararasamny.com was originally registered through us but expired last year. Afterward, you registered it again, but this time through a different provider. When it recently expired, and there was a delay in renewing it, it seems that the domain got locked by your current registrar. This is a standard policy for domain registrars when a domain is renewed after its expiration date.
It appears your current domain registrar is GNAME. To move forward, I would recommend contacting GNAME directly and inquiring about the locked status of your domain. If you ask, they may be able to lift the transfer lock. Once the lock is lifted, you’ll be able to transfer the domain back to us. And since you’ve upgraded to the Premium plan, you can transfer it for free.
If the domain cannot be transferred now, that’s okay, too. You can keep the domain with GNAME for now and still connect it to your WordPress.com site. We have a guide that will walk you through connecting an external domain to your WordPress site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/
I hope this helps clarify things. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We’re here to help.
