Speak up here please as there is no phone support. Only those with the Business Upgrade have live chat support.

This is a peer support forum where Staff and Volunteers work together cooperatively to provide WordPress.com support. Emailing support means it takes longer to get an answer than posting to the support forums does.

Volunteers answer the majority of all support questions and when we cannot provide support we tag threads for Staff assistance.

We are happy to answer your WordPress.COM questions right here in this thread. Please simply post exactly what you need help with into this thread, knowing there’s rarely ever a question posted here that has not already been asked and answered.

Hello! ^_^ I purchased a domain map for http://www.sunflowerpixie.com, my website on Blog.com. I’m switching to WordPress because I cannot access blog.com. The site is completely down. So, I can’t transfer my domain here, because I have no way of contacting or getting anything from Blog.com. Would it be possible to get some help?

    Thanks!
    ~Brettiebird

    @brettiebird
There is no relationship between WordPress.com and Blog.com. They simply use the free software provided by WordPress on their site. No we do not provide Blog.com support here at WordPress.com.

I purchased the $13 mapping to transfer my blog here, and I apparently need an EPP code to make it work? Which I can’t get because their site is down. How do I make sunflowerpixie.com work on WordPress? After paying for it to work on here? <3

You have domain mapping but your name servers are not pointing to WordPress.COM – you need to change the name servers to point here – that is done at your Registrar – the staff here can not change name servers for you

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  • Unknown's avatar

PS – you can’t transfer the domain registration to WordPress.COM – they are not set up for incoming domain name transfers

So, what did I pay for, exactly? When I paid $13 for a domain mapping from blog.com to wordpress.com?

Sorry, I am so confused. :/

I can connect to http://support.blog.com/transfer-your-domain/ so I’m not clear why you say it’s down.

  • Unknown's avatar

yes you paid $ 13.- / year for domain mapping – that is only half the steps – the name servers are the other half – also don’t forget the domain name needs to be registered someplace

Everyone on the site can’t access their blogs, it’s been a problem for months, apparently. Apparently, everyone is going to a different blog site. I just want the domain I paid $18 a year for to be accessible, so I thought I’d try and transfer the domain here, to WordPress. However, Blog.com can’t seem to give me the EPP code? That I apparently need? To get sunflowerpixie.com transferred over to WordPress. Is there anyway I can get my custom domain over here, without the use of the place I originally created it with? (Blog.com.)

What is a domain server exactly? :/

  • Unknown's avatar

You can transfer the domain name registration to another Registrar – some friends use Name Cheap – then you can change the name servers

The name servers are what tells the internet where to look for your blog – sort of like telling someone you live in Seattle, then when you show up at the Seattle city limits, someone looks at your domain name and sends you to the right address (the right address is the domain mapping part)

I would really like for someone to provide me information as to how to re-activate my expired domain. I don’t recall receiving any e-mails regarding this. However, I would really like to re-activate it and pay whatever fees that are necessary. I read that I have to go to My Upgrades but it doesn’t allow me to enter any payment information. Please help!
