Customise my site

How do I remove a theme and create my own? I already have a good idea of what I want my site to look like but I cannot find a theme which allows me to modify it to look how I want. Do I have to use the custom theme? If so I am concerned that I will spend the money then find it still won’t do want I’m looking for.

    Hi Suzie,

In general, WordPress.com themes are meant to be slightly customized. That is, the best option is to find a theme that looks and acts pretty close to your desired theme. Then, you can tweak it a bit.

With that being said, if you purchase the Custom Design upgrade shown below, there is an option under Appearance -> Customize -> CSS for “Don’t use the theme’s original CSS.” This allows you to override all of the theme CSS and create the look from scratch. The Custom Design can be found here:

Please note, if you choose this option, you will need to address every CSS element.

Perhaps you could lay out more of what you’re looking for in a theme, and I could try to help you find one that would work?

In either case, if you spend the money on a Premium theme or on the Custom Design upgrade and end up unhappy, we’ll refund your purchases!
